“Three cheers for the small but ambitious One Year Lease Theater Company for bringing this terrific 2006 play to local shores, in a vividly acted production. . . Mr. Ravenhill and the skilled cast bring us wholly inside their skins, so that we can’t help sharing their point of view.”

“This piece made me laugh, cringe, and think a great deal in a mere sixty minutes. It is a heavy topic, and certainly not one to bring the children to, but if you want to see an excellent group character study, go see pool (no water), whether you are an artist, a person, or both.”

“This cutting and frequently disturbing story rivets from start to finish as it strips away at how envy, jealousy, and competitiveness can simultaneously undermine and exist alongside love and compassion.”

“What makes the play so captivating is the ensemble work of Estelle Bajou, Christopher Baker, Nick Flint, Christina Bennett Lind, and Richard Saudek—they are, in a word, dynamic. Each actor is graceful, emotional, and riveting…[OYL] should serve as an inspiration to other theatre groups. You can still take a chance on the bold.”

The play pinions several sacred cows: Youth, art, friendship and success. Remember the names of the actors — Estelle Bajou, Christopher Baker, Nick Flint, Christina Bennett Lind and Richard Saudek. All are perfect, as is Natalie Lamont’s choreography and James Hunting’s decor — plain white benches that become beds, lounges, a place to cringe and perhaps even a tower of babel.

Christina plays the boy’s mother, Sophie Ryan, giving a heart-wrenching portrayal that showcases Christina’s acting capability. While her part is small, and her lines few, Christina has a way of speaking with her eyes, which you may have noticed in her scenes on All My Children. Despite being among a full cast of other talented actors, Christina gives an Oscar-worthy performance in this role, and showcases just how meaty those acting chops of hers are. One scene in particular, not to give anything away, will leave you speechless.

I thought, ‘Oh God. Whoever they hire is going to have to be an unbelievable actor and an unbelievable human being.’ And they found one because Christina is perfect for the part. She is so sweet. When you first meet her she is warm and she has that sort of essence of Bianca that Bianca needs to have. When I first met her, we gave each other a hug and she was familiar with my work and I was familiar with hers. It was kind of a love fest. When we did the scenes it was weird for me because it was different, but as soon as I looked in her eyes and we started acting, I immediately felt comfortable with her and I believed her as Bianca. So that’s kudos to her because I think she’s doing a great job….(But) as soon as the person makes their mark and does a good job and makes it their own, the audience can grow to love them and I think Christina is doing that.

“I am thrilled to welcome Christina Bennett Lind to the cast of All My Children. The role of Bianca is quite special. She is the moral compass of the show. I am confident that Christina’s talent and sensibility will allow this character to continue to thrive,” executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers told ET.

“Christina oozes goodness and we really needed that for Bianca,” AMC’s executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers told TVGuide Magazine‘s Michael Logan. “Eden brought an integrity and honest innocence to the role that was very tough to match. We turned the earth [upside-down] going through the candidates. When Christina came in to read for the part, she was Bianca. I think it’ll be a very easy transition for the audience.”

– Dan J. Kroll for www.soapcentral.com

“Christina is wonderful, and is doing a spectacular job, and has big shoes to fill. Eden Riegel (Ex-Bianca, AMC, and now Heather, Y&R) is a very special girl, actress, and human being, and we are close friends.  I don’t like to make comparisons because each person is an individual. So far we have had wonderful scenes together. Christina has a wonderful presence, and a really nice sensibility about her….She is a lovely actress.”

Moreover, Hill makes a bold directorial choice in the final moment of the play–bolstered, no doubt, by Lind’s excellent performance–that makes the audience once more question Rose’s own motivations, feelings, and humanity.

Rose, the prison warden, played with convincing schizophrenia by Christina Bennet Lind, hints darkly at what she suffered at the hands of Alex and Zig’s people.

‘teaser cow’ January 2010
One Year Lease Theatre Company

‘…Christina Lind stood out as a neurotically prude Ariadne…’
Jonathan Lim, Offoffonline.com

‘…But whatever emotional heft “Teaser Cow” achieves comes courtesy of Christina Bennett Lind as Ariadne. Frustrated and furious that her minotaur half-brother gets all the attention while she works the counter at Minos Beef, Lind is pitch-perfect as a sullen teen with every reason to be sullen.’
Mark Peikert, backstage.com

‘…There is fine acting across the board, especially from Kane, Casey, Lind and Bernardy.’
Duncan Pflaster, Broadwayworld.com

The most galvanizing moment belongs to Christina Bennett Lind and Wroe, as Myrrha and Cinyras… and it is not simply the subject matter that makes it potent, but Mancinelli-Cahill’s craft – and Lind’s performance.”
Michael Eck, Times Union, Metamorphoses

The one exception is Aricia (Christina Bennett Lind), love interest of Hippolytus…the desire in her eyes rings true, and her few monologues are like verbal orgies . . . if words were pictures, it would be soft-core porn.

Highlights?…Twins Heather and Christina Bennett Lind, long-limbed and supple, grace every scene they’re in..”
Paul Lamar, The Daily Gazette Metamorphoses

The twin sisters Lind offer good work in a plethora of roles, including Iris, Pandora, and twin Eurydices….The show’s most galvanizing scenes feature both Wroe and the Linds…
